_{When the siblings emerged from the den, white blanketed the land. It was unlike anything they had ever seen. Curiosity sparked as to what the source of this powdery substance was. It didn't take long for them to discover it as white fell from the sky. Fear and anger was the first thing to set in for Renae. This stuff was like that of which fell from the sky the day Havir vanished, but didn't stain their fur black. It was white ash. Renae turned to look at her brother, trying to communicate a silent worry to him. But he kept his eyes forward, watching the snow fall as guilt swelled in his chest. He, too, thought this was a strange form of ash, but unlike his sister, he wanted to retreat from it, go to where he wouldn't be haunted by his memories.

This was a collab I did with the lovely SacaraWolf5498! I did the rough sketch, background, and shading, and she did the lining and colors.

the title is kind of a play on how people call ash "black snow", since usually people see snow before they see ash. However, the siblings saw ash first, so they call snow "white ash"
